A documentary initiated and funded by the city of Hannover. Five gay and lesbian immigrants tell the stories of their new lives in Germany. We discover shattered expectations and welcome surprises. The subjects discuss finding new identities in their new home, the coming out to parents of very different cultural backgrounds, how the colour of their skin is more of an issue in Germany than their sexuality and how their personal traumas have translated into art. Despite obvious similarities, these experiences are engaging and strikingly different...
